Mission
Public health nurses collaborate with a multidisciplinary public health team and other key community partners to advance the health and wellness of individuals, families and communities. Public health nursing practice in Georgia is evidence-based and is consistent with core public health functions, essential public health services, the Georgia Nurse Practice Act, current technology and national standards. In order to fulfill this mission, public health nurses collaborate with all stakeholders relevant to public health to advance and sustain the health of Georgia communities.
Goals
1. To assure a competent nursing workforce
2. To support the education, training and development of nursing staff
3. To provide comprehensive and quality clinical health, disaster health and population health care
